VendorCAD vs PDF / email quoting for custom parts
Our take PDF/email quoting creates redraw loops and ambiguous specs. VendorCAD replaces that path with a branded configure link, live 3D preview, STEP download when validation passes, and quote requests in the manufacturer App inbox.
The manufacturer problem
A custom size hits email or phone. Engineering opens CAD and redraws. The quote sits while the buyer shops other shops. Each supplier interprets a long dimension PDF differently. By the time a STEP returns — if it returns — the lead may already be designed around a faster supplier.

Why “designed in” matters
Buyers keep designing in their assembly. The supplier who delivers a correct model file first gets locked into the design. VendorCAD’s lane is that race: see it, get the STEP when rules pass, keep working, quote the exact spec.
Limits to state clearly
VendorCAD does not magically eliminate engineering judgment for every one-off. It is strongest when a product family can be parameterized into a recipe with clear knobs and rules.

- You only need a static PDF catalog and never intend to publish a configure link
